Caring for your skin with soft and nourishing products.

Rissa who is the founder of Aromariss

Meet Rissa

Today my goal is to help you take care of your skin daily with soft and nourishing products

Aromariss was born out of its founder’s curiosity. In 1999, Rissa discovered the beautiful art of soapmaking under the hobbies section of a friend’s wedding photo-sharing site. As with many other soapers, it started as a hobby. But she was in Senegal, with a limited choice in supplies. Rissa set out to create a recipe with shea butter, coconut and palm oil; three oils and butter that are easily available in West Africa. She realized that using 20% shea butter in soaps made a wonderful bar that did wonders to dry skin.

Aromariss was born a year later and she started doing craft fairs in Senegal. Then, she embarked on a change of career, lived in four countries and three continents in seven years, before finally settling in Canada in 2012. Aromariss was put on the back burner, although she never stopped making soap.

Aromariss 2.0 was reborn once she was sure she will not be packing her bags again. Based in Ontario, Ottawa, Aromariss now steadily provides handmade natural skin, body and hair products.

Our Products

We hope that you will enjoy using our products as much as we enjoy making them.

All our products are made from scratch in small batches.

Our soaps are made using the cold process method to retain the inherent benefits of the natural ingredients. Our soaps cure for a minimum of 6-8 weeks to ensure that your bar will be mild, firm and lasts longer. Cold processed soaps retain their natural glycerin, a humectant, and helps to moisturize your skin.

Only natural ingredients such as herbs, clays, spices, vegetable juices are used, and we are constantly finding new colours that nature provides us with. We have deliberately chosen not to use synthetic colours and fragrances because we believe that nature provides plenty!
