Our Story
Aromariss began with a spark of curiosity in 1999, when Rissa discovered the art of soapmaking on a friend’s wedding photo-sharing website. What started as a hobby quickly became a passion rooted in creativity, resourcefulness, and a love for natural skincare.
In Senegal, where supplies were limited, Rissa crafted her first recipes using ingredients abundant in West Africa: shea butter, coconut oil, and palm oil. She soon realized that soaps made with 20% shea butter created a rich, nourishing bar that was perfect for dry skin.
Aromariss grew from craft fairs in Senegal to a global journey across continents, eventually finding its home in Ottawa, Canada. Today, Aromariss continues to honor its origins while embracing a renewed vision of creating gentle, natural products that help you care for your skin every day.
Our Products
At Aromariss, every product is made from scratch in small batches to ensure quality, freshness, and intention. Our soaps are crafted using the traditional cold process method, which allows natural ingredients to retain their full benefits. Each bar cures for 6 to 8 weeks, resulting in a mild, firm, long‑lasting soap enriched with natural glycerin to help keep your skin moisturized.
We choose ingredients that come directly from nature, such as herbs, clays, spices, and vegetable juices, and we avoid synthetic colors or fragrances. Every color, scent, and texture is inspired by the earth itself.
